John P. Troiano, Senior Vice President/Investments

Since becoming an advisor in 1984, I have learned that managing investor behavior is equally as important as managing the investments. I avoid following the herd by helping my clients avoid emotion-based investment decisions.  Investing can be enjoyable and successful when done in a rational manner.

Born and raised in New York, I attended Albany State University and received a bachelor's degree in Psychology.  I then began my career as a Financial Advisor in 1984, specializing in fixed income securities.  In 1988, I joined A.G. Edwards and expanded my business to include most other types of securities, including equities, options, mutual funds, and insurance products.

In 2009, I chose to move my business to Stifel.  I believe this move was beneficial to me.  Stifel has the investment products of a large firm with the personal touch of a smaller firm.
